CEO Message

Haripur is one of the major & well established District of Hazara Division (N.W.F.P). Demographic studies of the district have shown that 70% of the population residing in rural area signifying the under development of the relative to other area. The major issues facing the region are unemployment and associated poverty that is affecting the area at various tiers.

The lack of education and professional trainings especially among women is one of the main reasons of unemployment and poverty in the region. From a business prospective the assessment report shows that 60% of the women are skilled and are in working capacity, their skills however were not being harvested and their products are currently not being marketed due to lack of technique and resources, thereby playing some part in further worsening unemployment and poverty. The same problem is being faced by small business of the area, there is no apparent development of their businesses even though ample resources are available. Hence the problem once again is of the lack of knowledge and training on managing their businesses.
After the above assessment the activists of the community organizations (Both Male & Female) decided formation of a sector level group of local specialists/activists in enterprise development and finally in Dec 2006 a group of 12 volunteer (6 Male & Female) from community organizations able to formed a sector level organizations named Zakriya Dastkari Center under the Ejaz Enterprises.
